Screen Sections for Vibrating Screens
W.S. Tyler pioneered the tensioned screening surface. The company developed the first method of practical use by employing "hook strips" (reinforced hooked edges) formed on two opposite edges of the screen cloth. The design, originally for the "Hum-mer Electric Screen", made the screening process faster and more efficient. Since screens so-configured provided improved results, W.S. Tyler applied the technique to all makes of vibrating screens.

The use of the W.S. Tyler hook strip and special edge preparations maintain the screen at drum-head tension, which is essential for successful vibration screening. The life of the wire cloth is optimized since the method provides a smooth screening surface. W.S. Tyler makes each section with the right type of hook strip or edge to ensure the screen meets specification, and correctly fits the required make and model of screening machine.

Single Face is one layer of screen media.

The "Half-Sandwich" construction includes the screening surface and a support surface underneath it. This construction helps to reduce blinding
